The council recognised the silver medal in the long jump, bronze medal in the 4x100 metres and fourth place in the triple jump that Xavi won in the last World Championship held in Christchurch. Also attending the event was Aleix Domenech, bronze medal-winner in cadet alpine skiing at the world championship.

Xavi addressed the attendees with a few words and expressed thanks for holding the event. Afterwards, both athletes signed the city council’s book.
